Default How to best calculate CFM?

I'm new to this and this is my first post. There is a post in this forum that talks about this, see above. This is something that I've been searching for all night but some sites say 3 - 5 times a minute and others say once every 3 - 5 minutes. This post says if you are only trying to replentish co2 levels, then once every 5 minutes is fine. If you are trying to cool your op as well, then you'll need to evac 3 to 5 times every minute. I have a little over 800 cubic feet of space and I need cooling.... This is gonna get expensive! Anyone else have any experience on this? I'd really like to go with the smaller CFM since a 2400 CFM fan with carbon filter set up is going to cost me Maybe I can suplement the carbon filter with an Ozone generator? Just make sure the O generator is located after the carbon so I don't degrade my coal. Any thoughts?

Multiple fans... That is big space for a first time grower. Heres a Lighting & Ventilation Recommendation Calculator you can check out https://cannabis.community.forums.oz...s/lighting.php also I would run your fans all the time when lights are on and get air cooled hoods which will help keep temps down.

Thanks for the suggestions! I'm lucky enough to have a good sized space to work with.

The space is a little under 10'x10'x8' and there's a small closet that adds another 4.5'x3.5'. I'm going to run a 22 sq ft (180 cubic) veg room (will keep a momma or 2 in there as well as a shelf for my cuttings) and the remain space will be for flowering and supplies, ie. 40 gallon can to hold water, etc. I've got everything framed out with 2x2 studs and plastic and my door is sealed with weather stripping. It's airtight in there. I'll be using Canna Coco in 3 gallon pots. Got a 400W MH for the veg and 3 600W HPS for flower. It's gonna be hot in there for sure. Luckily I live in the great northwest so outside temperatures are mild plus the room is in a basement so the inside temps are pretty constant and mild.

Am I going to have to run 2 completely different sets of fans for two environments or is it possilbe to run one set for the 2 different rooms? I've already got 4" holes and flanges cut for the veg room since that is where the magic starts; intake hole is at ground level and outflow is at the ceiling. I bought a small 80CFM fan from Home Depot for now since it was only $25 but the thing is pretty loud. Are Can fans quite? I need this room to be as stealthy as possilbe since family and friends come to my house often and I need to keep them completely unaware of what's going on.

Maybe I should move this thread to "grow room set up" now????

it would be best to run 2 fans and Can fans can be loud it just depends there a ways to quite it if it is to loud and I would move this to grow room design and set up. also its good to have pics or at least a diagram of your room when asking questions about what to do to that room.
