hi my plant is startin to grow its 2nd set of true leaves how close shud i get my 400w mh 2 it?

Depends mostly on temperature, and current light source. I'd say start at 2 feet on average. For about a week. And gradually put it as close as the heat will allow. Keep a thermometer at canopy level. The same distance from the light as the top of your plant. If you can get it within a foot without toasting your tops then congrats! You'll be in good shape.
