seed changed colour from green to brown

hey guys,
I just found a weed seed in a bag i just bought, and was pretty excited. Unfortunately it was greenish white seed, and not a healthy brown one. I thought i would give it a try neways and used the "Paper towl method", meaning i placed the seed in some damp paper towl and left it by a window. This method worked for me before, with a green/white seed so i thought i would give it a try. I checked on it after three days, and know it is brown and looks quite healthy. Does the seed have a chance, or am i just to optimistic?

yeah it should, sometimes takes up to 12 days i think i heard at the most
