Hey guys and gals! Well, I got bored at the weekend and thought it would be interesting to grow a cannabis plant, so I went online and bought some seeds. Since then I did a bit of reading and the seeds turned up today (2 x Amnesia Lemon, 1 x White Moscow). I only got the Amnesia because I smoked some in Amsterdam and it was awesome and no real reason for the White Moscow other than it was apparently fairly small when fully grown. So I got home and my seeds have arrived so I have decided to germinate one of the seeds by placing it on damp kitchen paper and covering it up with a saucer and cup and placed it in a cupboard. Once the seed has sprouted I'm planting it in a 6" pot and using a CFL bulb as a means of lighting (6,400K and 20w (150w equivalent of an indacascent bulb)) suspended directly above the pot, keeping the light as close as possible. I am guessing I'll need to repot only once. This is only a bit of fun for me and if the plant dies, it dies, no big deal, I just would like to grow it successfully and being able to smoke what it produces will be pretty damn cool considering it's starting life as some little round seed! I remember growing a venus flytrap when I was younger with not much success haha Any input would be great from what I've mentioned. I've planted just 1 Amnesia Lemon seed and I will update with pictures as and when. Oh and with regards to soil, I'm using a compost which contains sphagnum moss peat and dolomitic lime. It also contains a nutrient mix. Cheers for reading.

i germinate my seeds in a wet paper towel in a zip lock bag then i put them in a dark draw! i start them under 2 - 250 watt cfl`s ( 6500k ) ! some i eventuly transplant outside the others i leave inside! when i bud i have a 250 watt hps! i know i dont have much but those cfl`s but out a shit load of light !

welcome to RIU hope u get that seed growing im on my frist grow useing bag seeds.Do u live in usa? i wanna buy some seeds but kinda scared of gettin busted. if u do live in the usa where did u get ur seeds?

i germinate useing a cup of water in a dark room for 24 hours so far so good. but anyways ur new sprout doesnt need any food/nutes for the frist 2-4 weeks just water i feed mines 2 weeks after sprout i also use peat pellets for my sprout

I'll look into maybe getting a more powerful bulb, especially as the plant grows bigger or maybe running 2 bulbs on it. Truth be told I'm not really much of a smoker. I do it from time to time but I just like the idea of growing a cannabis plant!

I got my seeds from a UK source as I'm from the UK, if you want the website address I'll dig it out.

When the plants grow is the aroma pretty strong? Would you avoid sticking clothes in the same growing cupboard/wardrobe as the plant? Sorry if it's a stupid question.

i get my seeds from marijuana-seeds.nl it comes in a cd case i normaly get mine in about 9 - 14 days ! liveing in n.c usa

so far iv found them to be the cheapest place for seeds and fem. seeds also! iv gotten a shit load from them

as far as smell im still waiting for it. im growing 5 female bag seed they r 2 months old and 4 week in flowering im growing with a 400 MH/HPS in a tent so far no smell dont know if thats a good thing i would like to know when does the smell come i see bud all over my plants
and if ur seeds arent feminized seeds u may want to plant more then just 1 better chance of getting a female

i just check them out 30 seeds for 73 use dollars if i read rite thats sweet and u get 3 different type too nice i want that bubble gum and northen light soo bad thx agin
