Is 3 months enough? (advice please!)

SUp guys first time grower here. Me and 2 friends wanna grow some plants this summer, my question is: how long does it take to go from seed to harvest? I know most plants flower in +/-8 weeks, but then take 30-50 days before being harvest ready. Did I get that right? We want to start this or next week, but only have about 11 weeks until around Aug. 14 when we go back for college. We live in Hawaii so we have a pretty good climate. We'd like to just find a spot in the woods and grow it there. Would only lowrider/dwarf strains be harvest ready within that 10-12 week timeframe? We were thinking about getting 10 feminized Top 44s from marijuana-seeds.nl, plus the 5 free ones they give, another 5 my friend has, and maybe buy a few local clones. We're not sure what strains all the other seeds/clones are (besides the 10 Top 44s). What do you guys think? I know those smaller autoflowering strains get harvest ready much quicker. But we dont want to suck up the smaller yield! Are there any other strains that are harvest ready within 10-12 weeks? We wanna turn our harvest into cookies and bring them back to school to sell.

Without a 12 hour dark cycle they wont flower unless its an autoflowering strain. Outdoors it would be later than August before you could harvest...So to do it in that time frame you'd have to go with an Autoflower...

Vegging can be anywhere from 7-8 weeks or longer depending on how tall you want your bud, how much light they get, how fast the strain grows, ect...
Budding is an additional 8-10 weeks on top of that.
Also don't forget you have have to deal with seedlings and making sure they get strong enough for vegging. That's another 2-3 weeks depending on if you're growing with seeds or clones. (Seeds taking the longest to deal with).
So you're really looking at something from a 14-21 week commitment depending on a lot of factors obviously. No doubt it could be faster or slower, but you can expect hickups a long the way or you could have totally smooth sailing. But I'd personally say a 14-21 weeks is a reasonable estimate for a new grower. Some people here it seems pump out new harvests ever 1.5 to 2 months. Thats crazy good. That's the level of performance I want when I have all my mother plants fit and healthy, a cloning area, and when I have all the supplies I need.

it all depends on what kind of yield you want. veg for 2 months, then flower. also depends on the strain, they have some hybrid seeds that you can flower from sprout, but i'm not too sure about those, never messed with them. to get a decent crop, you need to at least let it go 2 months from sprout. thats what ive been doung, and i've got 5 ft. tall plants.

I think most people are missing the point that you will be doing this outside. You can't flip the sun to 12/12. Unfortunately, you are at the mercy of your climate. Your best bet would be an autoflower starin which will flower in any light cycle. Buy a bunch of them and get growing!

I'm doing Auto AK47 and they can go from seed to harvest in about 11 weeks.

Yeah I didn't notice that. Then yeah he should get an auto flowering strain. Hopefully he get that shit flowered and harvested by the 11th week.

So you think Id for sure need an autoflowering/hybrid strain? Check these out for me http://www.marijuana-seeds.nl/AK_47_Feminized_seeds.html http://www.marijuana-seeds.nl/top_44_feminized.html http://www.marijuana-seeds.nl/lowryder-2-feminized.html And then pretty much every strain on this list- http://www.cannabis-seeds-bank.co.uk/automatic-flowering-dwarfs-128-c.asp Thing to remember here is that we wont be keeping them under 24 hrs light indoors, but instead growing them outdoors, stopping by once in awhile to help them out but for the most part letting them do their own thing. Think theyd still make 10 week harvest?

11 weeks sounds prime!

You'd push it but it could be done (in theory). Like I said expect hickups. Especially outdoors. You'll be facing the elements, animals (they love to eat seedlings and freshly rooted plants), and bugs. If you did go a head with your plan then anyone of those autoflowering plants from attitude would be a good pick. However just note most of those autoflowering plant descriptions say the optimal amount of light they need is 20 hours and 4 hours of darkness. You obviously can't do that in the outdoors so expect some slowdown. But who knows I could be totally wrong. I've never dealt with a dwarf autoflowering plant.

You can do 12/12 from seed with the autoflowers, they just end up being much smaller. They will flower under any routine. I always have a couple growing during every cycle because they can handle whatever stage your main plants are in. Granted, they don't get very big under 12/12 but it is always nice having the extra bud around!

cool. so what are the rates at which plants succeed or fail? I know if I get like 10 scrag seeds that maybe 1 will turn into a plant if lucky, but what about these high quality feminized seeds? How many can I expect to germinate, and to then be transplanted successfully? Say we only bought a 3 or 5 seed pack from attitude, is there a chance that they'll all fail?

I've currently got some autoflower going, not finished yet. However from what I've read on multiple posts here on Rollitup, when it comes to autoflowers it usually takes a couple weeks longer than what the breeders claim...So you'd definitely be pushing it. There are other varieties of autoflowers which have claims of only 8 weeks, if 11 is all you've got then I'd go with one of those.

From what I've read here on Rollitup, the autoflowers typically take a couple weeks longer than what the breeders claim. If you only have 11 weeks, then I'd go with one of the strains which claim 8 weeks, seed to harvest. You would still be cutting it close but it would be your best bet, in my opinion. Mine are still growing in my veg room and are supposed to be 9 weeks. Another four and if it truly is nine weeks from seed they should be ready to chop down...Grrr...Didn't mean to post twice, damn thing didn't seem to be posting at first.

Feminized seeds have a higher chance of being hermies. I would concentrate on an auto flowering that is for outdoors, and grows larger.
The Attitude Seedbank has A LOT to choose from. Good luck with the cookies, make sure to save some for the teachers when mid terms come up.
