At the moment Iam growing 3 autoflower plants.

Iam unable to afford some proper lights for a week or two so at the moment Iam putting the lights on a windowsill in sunlight during the day, then at night time Iam using a system of my own devising-

I have threaded 3 sections of string between my kitchen flouro lights and the ceiling, on one end the string splits into 2 sections, these 2 are tied to a rubber band. I put the band around my plant pots and tuck the single end under the band to hold the pot in place, by altering the length of the tucked in end I can change the distance between the bulbs and the plants.

However I have found an old aquarium light and Iam considering using that instead.

The kitchen light has 2 tubes that are about 5 foot long and are marked -'58W 3500K'
The aquarium light is a single tube which is 16inches long ans is marked with 'TLD 15W/35-535'.

What I would like to know is which would be better to use as an interim measure until I get the proper lights?

Any advice would be very gratfuly recieved,
