so im growing in california in a shed, it gets to 110*F on these last few days, i expect it to get up to 130*F mid summer, im just wondering if they will be ok as long as i keep fresh air moving in. its soo hot here that just bringing in fresh air from outside levels out the sheds temperature to the outside temperature, which isnt at the ideal growing of 85*. will they be ok or what the fudge am i sposed to do? i know people grow outside here but do they realy stay alive in this insane heat?

Wow 130? really? Just once in my life I need to feel 130 cuz damn I like it hot! Ice water drip ha ha just kidding. Im assuming your using lamps in this shed, unless the roof is off or something. Is there anyway to get outake fan as well? Could you dig a hole and lower the level at which they sit? Dunno if thats feasable,but 130, damn!! Sometimes there just isnt a good answer, but as long as you keep em looking healthy and growing, (and growth will be a little slower than at the optimum 75 degrees) thats all you can do. Maybe adjust your growing season in future to veg indoors in the fall than flower in the cooler winter. Hope your around later im curious to see how this goes, it is very interesting of an ordeal.

Also: If these are in real sunlight, have you considered shading? Ive heard of hardware cloth being used in some situations.

yea, the mohave gets fuggin hot. Dunno mang, sounds like a recipe for heat stress, sorry. I think CO2 will allow higher temps but I don'tknow alot about it.

I think as long as you have good ventilation, including fans blowing directly onto the plants, they should be okay. It's not going to be in the ideal temperature range for some of the cycle, but you can mitigate that by running the lights at night time as much as possible. Also, adding CO2 to your setup will allow your plants to thrive in a much hotter environment. You can even consider adding an A/C unit if things get too far out of control.

its inside one of those storage sheds u can buy for 3k thats made of metal and a wood floor, its like what u see on trains. their freaking huge for the price and great for storage. yeah they are underneath 400watt metal halides. its a medical grow for my parents. their doing great right now, but its 100* outside and with the sun beating on the metal shed, it just raises the temperature. i got vents on both sides to let in fresh air and the other one pulls out the heat on top with a standard 10$ fan. id just hate to wake up late one morning and find my whole crop torched cause it was the hottest day. think im planning on growing outside during the hot summer and just goina put my lights away during the intense summer thats inevatably coming. im not in the muhovy desert, im a few hours north in the valley, it gets insanely hot up here too but everyones growing, farmers have 3 growing seasons around here, but none of them are growing in a shed so i really cant tell whats goina happen this summer. ill come back with updates as time gets closer to mid summer, knowing my luck ill have something stupid hapen like a deer finding his way into my shed and eating all my plants before summer even hits.

If you have the room, try putting a couple buckets of cold water in there, that should help raise the moisture in the shed and cool it some...Im sure at that temp, any bit of lowering will significantly help the plant lol

yeah i considered raising the humidity by doing that but im storing boxes in the shed and the high moisture would ruin the boxes. im considering drilling holes into the top of the sides to help ventelate, but im not sure if that would just cause rain to leak in during the winter. so yeah im thinking ill just take the plants outside during summer and bring em inside and lock em up during the night.
