Default Plant Grafting?

I think it said grafting, the long and the short of it is taking a young hopeful, cutting the stem right above the cotyledon leaves. Similar slice to the one you do when cloning. If you have a fully mature hops plant you take a cutting from it and "graft" it to the other plant along the slice. A little bit of geometry here but I'm sure you know the angle of the other cut on the hops plant. Some sort of grafting material for plants is used and supposedly after about 10 days you have just played god, or some sort of prearranged marriage thing. Supposedly the plant then produces THC since it is claims that the process for creating THC is root driven. Anyone ever heard of this, the ultimate stealth, but I wonder what the fuck you'd be smoking.

Yup. It's been on this site before. It doesn't work. The closest relative to cannabis is believed to be hops (at least that's what they tried in the experiment). The graft was successful but thc transferral was not.

i think you have it backwards. it's been a long time, so i can't be sure, but a friend of mine grafted a pot plant to hops stock. it flowered, and showed an unusual growth pattern, and did produce thc. the cut was from a mom, not from a beanling.

i'll have to call him tonite, it's been about five years since i've even talked to him.

Yeah! call him up. I wanna know what the deal is with this. From what I understand it takes 3 years for a hops plant to show maturity. I don't know what the bud sites look like on hops. Are they possibly smokable?
