Hello everyone,
I am a first time grower and have already had my grow box approved by you people here at rollitup.org. It is basically a dresser without the drawers, and with a door. Anyways, I am looking to get this little grow up started soon but I need some advice. I am looking into the "sea of green" method and this sounds like EXACTLY what I need. Short plants with fast yields. Also, if the plants are short enough, I can put another shelf into my dresser and grow 8 plants instead of 4! Which brings me to my next point, I am thinking of getting the dual spectrum bubbleponics system that is sold by stealth hydro. These systems sound perfect for what I need. They also work well with the "sea of green" method, or so I read. I am wondering if what I have read is true. For a first time grower, should I get the Dual Spectrum Bubbleponics Complete Kit with the Dual Spectrum II lights like Roseman talks about? or is there something better? Also, to increase bud production under the green "canopy" can I line the sides and back of my grow box with fluorescent lights? As long as they are full spectrum, wouldn't this help increase bud prodcution on the bottoms of my plants, as well as encourage them to be bushier as opposed to taller? Lastly, I just really need help with getting started. I have seen like 8 videos on how to do it and have read a LOT about it but am still unsure. If I have anymore specific questions I will ask but for now my 2 questions are all I have. I am starting to build my grow box tommorow. Should I get the bubbleponics? Is it easy for a begginer? can I use the nutes it comes with? sea of green is 24/7 lights and nutes while veging and then 12/12 lights and nutes while flowering right? Thank you! |

I am still a little bit of a noob so if I am wrong, anyone feel free to correct me. While they are in veg you can do 24/7 but you need a minimum of 18 dark and 6 light, and yes nutrients, but make sure you use Growth nutes as bloom nutes are for flower stage. As far as the lights go you can surround the plants however you need to be sure there is a decent amount of light above the plants so they have something to grow towards. If you don't they will remain midgets. For veg you want to get bulbs that are 5000k or above and for flower you want 4000k and below bulbs. Instead of spending all that on the dual spectrum go to your local hardware store and in the lighting section they sell the same reflectors and bulbs for cheaper and you don't pay shipping. I just picked up two for $30. When in flowering stage u can mix bulbs as it can be beneficial however while in flower they should be predominantly around 2700k and in veg predominantly 6500k Personally I would suggest starting in soil as other techniques can be challenging for us newbies, but that's just IMHO and from personal experience.

You can make a better system than that for $50 easy and then go buy better lights for less, too. Kits are always a ripoff, the one from stealth hydro in particular.
