your runoff ph will be lower than you soil ph.
just stick to measuring the ph of your soil in the pot the day after watering(6.5-7.0 is what you want).
dont worry about the ph of the runoff i never do.
i just probe my soil the day after watering(still moist).
if its within spec then dont worry about the runoff.
hope this helps.
LUDACRIS.

some times this happens if your soil is mixed with perlite.
if you hit a bit of perlite when probing you will get a wrong reading.
clean the probe thouroughly and retest at different parts around the pot.
probe the soil and wait 1 min to see the reading then just push it deeper and wait another minute for an accurate reading you should be able to feel if the end of the probe is touching perlite or soil the probe should be well cleaned before each test/probing).
i dont know where you live but you can buy these meters at any diy/gardening stores for around 10$.
dont stress too much about ph unless you see plant problems.i test my soil a couple of times after planting or transplanting when the soil is nice and moist and if it reads ok i never bother to test it again.
just use neutral ph water for mixing your feed with and you should be fine depending on your medium/soil mix.
good luck mate.
let me know how you get on.
LUDA.

yes.
i use bottled mineral/spring water with a ph of 7.4(because my soil ph was a bit low(6.3)
then add my nutes to that.
if you look at different bottles of mineral/spring water it will tell you the ph of the water on the label beside the mineral contents it has.
7.0 ph mineral/spring water is fine to use just mix your nutes with that(7.0)and check the soil ph about 24hrs after feeding/watering(it will change overnight).
and you will get an accurate reading of the soil ph.
(next time just send me a personall message or add me to your contacts).
good luck.
LUDACRIS.
