I have 12 plants now that are all between 19 - 27 inches tall (I hope to have at least 6 females that I can keep). They are very bushy and many have multiple sidebranches that extend at least 3/4 up the the plants. They are from various bags of good smoke I've collected so I dont know particular strains. My goal is to get at least 3 ounces from each of these plants (about 6 plants) so I'm shooting for about 18 ozs total). My question is about how tall should I let my plants veg to guarantee my goal of 3ozs per plant? They are in a 4x6x8 closet feeding only Jacks All Purpose 20-20-20, temp with lights: 79-85 F, Humidity fluctates at around 30-47%. Lights 18/6, water Ph: 6.8. For lights I'm running a 600w seup with the MH conversion bulb in for veg. (switching to HPS for flowering). I also have two 225 red/blue LED panels for side lights along with two 23w cfls 6500k.

seems like a pretty big goal for 600w of light, i would say since your grow room is 8 feet high flower them at around 4-5 feet that way you use all the height of your room

Depending on how tall you can grow just remember when you take the plant from Veg to Flower it will increase 60% in height, meaning if you have a 24 inch plant to flower you can expect it to reach between 4.5 to 5 feet tall if you grow out without no topping.

just my opinion doesn't mean much,but i never understood the point of vegging for that long.By the time your grows done i could have two done.I dunno just a thought.I flower mine around 12-14 inches and still end up with 5 onces a plant.

Wow! So I could basicly start my 12/12 now huh and possibly pull 3oz per plant? What kinda lights you running? I'm gonna switch to Tiger Bloom when flowering starts as well. Plants are also in 4 gallon pots.

i veg mine until they ar 16-20" before i flip them. while they are growing i top & supercrop them to ensure i have multiple topps per plant, all at the canopy line.
i get to do this though because i have a dedicated veg & flower room, running perpetual.

do you know what strains you are running?
they are probably gonna double in height by week four of flower.... depending on what they are topping them all to even out the canopy and save hieght wouldn't be a bad idea.

this is my flower room. Air Handling for 4'x4'x8' 430watt flower room.

if i veg to 18" with my strain the room works best. true the room is 8' tall but you lose space from:

heigth of pots
gap between plants and lights
the light
my room also has a ballast and blower at the top.

so my max easy height around 5 feet

(you will need to raise short plants)

this is a 12/12 grow from seed, it's the end of the season as i'm shutting down.

the short ones on the left are 30"
the tall ones on the right are 54"
and in there some where is one 20" one on lots of blocks.

this is not always true, it would also depend on the height of your light as well

my light i pretty much keep at the same height all the time

i added a 2.5' bush a month ago...
its budding up good now ... done stretching .... its maybe 3" higher .... 10% gain
