I have always used miracle-gro and never had an over fert issue I dont fert until the plants "tell" me they need it I recently switched to an organic miracle-gro "garden soil" rather thnan the normal potting soil no time release ferts. As far as working around miracle-gro I agree with user friendly water heavy at first to help wash the time release ferts out of the soil and like i said wait until the plants look as if they need to be fertilized usually around 4-5 weeks . The only soil that has given me a hard time is expert gardener potting soil (cheap wal-mart miracle gro knock-off) miracle-gro soil is not the best soil out there but it will grow fine plants just dont overdo the ferts there already is enough in there for a while... good luck

It's all I've used..no nutes added or anything..just water and light. Works well...you could have an array of other problems causing it. People have gotten into a habit of just saying "miracle-gro sucks"...many haven't even ever tried it. Don't believe the hype.

The first set of leaves will eventually wilt and die.. just leave them there til they fall off... it's normal...

Correct me if I am wrong (not being a wise guy, seriously, correct me if I am wrong), but each time you water it releases fertz right? I watered like a mofo the first weak thinking I was flushing it and it about ate up a few of my plants cause I was releasing the hell out of fertz each time. after I figured miracle gro moisture control out finally, my plants are ALL growing awesome...maybe I just got lucky?

Miracle-Gro Moisture control rocks! This is my first grow and I have already purchased 4 more bags of MG moisture control that I will use for my second grow. I hear all around that it sucks, but seems to work for me thus far. -knock on wood-

MG is the shit as far as im concerned lol, ive grown maaaaany a luvly ladies that got me beyond blazed. MG is simple. When they sprout water them with a PH of 7.4 for a coupe/few days, then walk down to 6.8. Example: couple days or even a week of 7.4 water, then do a few days of 7.3, then a few of 7.2 and so on until you get to 6.8. I have found that MG is kinda a touchy soil tho, but if you stick in those ph zones ur good.
