sooo im a first timer....
and ive decided to grow on my own rather than spend all my bill/survival money on my habbit.

i already started a plant a week ago...but didnt have a real "ROOM" to put it in. ive been growing it in a closet under two floresent lights.

a friend decided to give me a 3fthigh, 1ftdeep, 1ftwide....box? it looks more like a midget outhouse if you ask me. but he made it for me to put the plant in. my question is....

can i even grow here? i want to keep this small, by either tying back the branches or trimming the plant as it grows, im only growing one plant so i was wondering if this was enough space for one plant, 2 24in floresent lights, and a 8in fan.


please help. any and all feedback is appreciated. or any other ideas to design a single plant grow room would be helpful.

I guess that depends. Are your lights more than 1ft wide? If not, than you should have just enough space to cram everything in there. With the plants being like 2ft-2.5ft tall overall (if you even wanted to go that high) and the florescent lights don't get too hot, then just shove the fan in somewhere.

Im new also but im growing four plants in a small space also. I pretty sure that the space isnt as much a factor as the conditions. Good soil with good nitro content, lights that contain alot of blue such as a daylight bulb or cool white which usually are between 5000-6500K.Also you want the right amount of lumen. Good nutes after 2weeks. also for 1 plant that fan might be to strong. i use a 4" fan and it provides plentyof air.

You can either SCROG 1 plant or SOG 4. Me, I'd start 4 plants then grow them a til they're about 6in high, toss them into 12/12, then ID a female and fix a SCROG trellis inside to get all the bud sites at an even height. You'll have to grow short with a box like that, I know cause I got one the same size I use for a cloning station, but have also grown a full plant in it using an 8.5x8.5in pot.

Hi, im only started growing this year and here is my home made grow box.

I have 4 light holders with reflectors. each light holds 2 16w cfls equilvalent of 600w total output from 8 cfls. I started with all 6400K's and now I removed 4 and replaced them with 2700K's for the 12/12 stage.

Out of 9 seeds i planted, 5 grew and 3 are female. I began 12/12 almost 3 weeks ago.

Lolz m8, nice name u gave me there, hehe. theres plenty of air and space for the lights and they do not genertae enought heat to light a match, or even burn paper. The actual tin reflectors get slightly warm, i can place my hand on it forever and it wont burn, thats it, card is cold. If u check out my story in previous post i made, u'll see i brightened up the box with reflective mylar.

I constanltly monitor the box, thanks for the concern.

heres what i did with the box. just need a better vent system, i left the door close for 4hours and the temp was almost 90 in there...ill have to buy a fan tomorrow to filter out more air.

Fuzzotany - thats awesome. how much do you normally yeild out of that thing? its almost like we have the same box, yours just looks more thought out.
