Default General Questions before i grow!
Ok. In the apartment i am living at now we have a 150 dollar electricity cap for 4 people until we get charged. I will be growing with CFL's to save as much money on the bill as i can, but i plan on getting alot. Based on this, how many lights do u think i can get and not pass the cap? i also have a regular table fan i will be using for ventilation, and to PC fans as the exhaust fans.

Another question i have is about the duration from germinating to harvest. I was looking at nirvana to see the selection of seed they have, and i noticed under the key facts about each seed something that i just didnt seem to understand. I will use White Widow as an example.

  • Flowering Weeks: 8/10
  • Yield (Sea of Green on one m2) : 325-425
  • Harvest Month: 9/10

i dont seem to understand what the numbers next to the flowering weeks, and the harvest moneth. Does it mean that it takes 8 to 10 weeks to flower, and 9 to 10 months for the whole process? i just dont seem to understand. as well as the yield number. Sorry if this is a common sense question. Thank you all very much! STAY HIGH!

-MATEO!

EDIT: Sorry so baked when i wrote this, i totally forgot another really important question i had. I was looking at LST and FIM methods, and i saw this LST method.

http://www.rollitup.org/view.php?pg=...article&id=685

The theory seems to be very plausible, but i want to know if anybody has used this method in practice, or knows anyone that has and knows if it is as good as it seems to be. When should i begin doing this method, and can FIM be used in junction with this method. THANKS EVERYONE!

8/10 weeks is how long it takes for it to flower
9/10 is the month meaning if you planted it outside it would be ready to harvest in sept or oct.(i think)
Yeild is in a 3foot by 3 foot area you can, with the perfect conditions, expect 325-425 grams
Make sense?

OOH lol so simple, sort of makes me feel a little stupid lmao!! yea it makes all the sense now. This was the only real issue i had, i thought i would be growing for months and months, so i didnt want to jump into anything and put all the time and not get the bang for my buck.. and time.

Here is a cost estimation guide for power. I believe that 10% is added to compensate for the ballast, which should not apply to you since you are using CFL's. One other thing, you might try changing out all the lights in the house that you can and replace them with CFL bulbs. I did that and my electric bill actually went down about 20%, more than enough to make up for the 250w MH i'm using
