Pet store PH up/down?

So do you have to buy PH up/down from hydro suppliers or can you use pet store aquariium supplies up/down? I know that ph are just the concentration of hydrogen ions so what harm could it do. What about the chlorine remover drops/liquids? can you use that for tap water instead of letting it sit and humid up your room??

I've tried the pet store pH down, and it works fine if you're growing in a soil mix. Mine I think has a buffer in the pH down or the acid just isn't very concentrated. I can only get my pH down to 6.0 with the pet store stuff. But for a hydro medium, you want the pH around 5.5 i believe, and if your solutions only work in the 6.0-7.0 range, then you may not be getting enough acidity for a hydro op.

Pet store adjuster is usually the Exact same stuff just more diluted. (wouldnt want to accidentally kill all your fish )

At my grow shop .5L of PH up or down is only about $5, shouldnt be much more anywhere else.
