Questions and tips for myself for growing

i am growing using a drip system, i use rock wool for my clones and i have hydrocorns surrounding them, the drip system runs 24 hours, and the light runs 18 hours a day, and i keep the ph at 7.0

is the drip system the best to water the plants? i dont think it full proof, i also use a strong pump

Do i let the system drip 24 hours a day slowly? or should I drip it for a certain period of time, and different times throughout the day?

is the lighting time correct, the plants are already 6 inches big?

should i change the ph?

should i find a better system? ill post pics in the near future.

drip, imo is not the best, but it works, and that's what counts.

i'd set it up to run for an hour, and shut off for fifteen mins

your lighting is ok, 16/8, 18/ 6, 24/0... they all work, so... yeah, you're good...

ph for hydro is 5.8

three little letters.... dwc :D

a 17$ timer will get your drip on track. but like KP said you will soon out grow it and move on, prolly to DWC. theres a DIY for a DWC bucket. cheap easy. Goof Proof Eh. well maybe not but it will not give you half the headaches like clogged lines and such. peace

so basically in this bubble system, the net pot will sit maybe an inch under water, with the rockwool at the bottom of the net pot, and hydro corns around it, and the roots will constantly be growing into the water while the bubble system gives it oxygen

alright i changed my system a lil bit, i took out the drip, now im using a smaller rubbermade container so the bottom of the rockwool is submerged about a half ince, and the ph is 5.8 so thanks for the info hopfully it does better

if thats the case how do the roots grow, there popping out the medium a lil bit, should i got a lot of bubbles to kind of mist it and the roots will grow towards the mist and enter the water

the rockwool shouldn't sit at the bottom of the net pot, but should have an inch or two of the clay pellets below... and about an inch of the clay pellets should be in the water... for the first week or so you can also mist the tops still to ensure that the roots are getting moisture, but you'll soon see them growing through the clay and out the pot and down into the water
