i heard that slow release fert is bad for the plants
I have looked absolutely everywhere to find soil without any slow release fert and i cannot find any. even soil in bulk has added fert!

any ideas?

Get some perlite.
Buy any soil at your local home and garden shop.
Pretty much any soil will work.

I messed up on my first gro and got a 9 mo's time release soil.
I think the average is 3 mo's though.
I would opt for the least amount of NPK available in this store bought stuff.

I would mix the potting soil you decide on half and half with the perlite.

This will give you good drainage.
In turn whatever is in the soil will be dilute to the point that it will not be a major concern.

After 30 days you should start with a good veg nute and then a bloom nute later on for flower.

I have been usin molasses along with nutes.
I used it the last week of veg and thru almost 6 weeks of flower currently.
It seems to give pretty nice results when used appropriately.
