Dude,,,Its not wise to be growing in your parents home without them knowing. You are putting them into serious trouble if you get caught. I would suggest getting your own place, or grow outside somewhere gorilla style...IMO

Yeah i agree.

Speaking as a responsible cannabis user, growing in your parents' home without their permission is
incredibly disrespectful and stupid - if your garden was discovered by law enforcement, regardless of how many
or how few plants you have, your parents could potentially lose everything they've worked for - house, car, boat,
whatever - simply trying to keep you or themselves out of jail. In the States the DEA would make an example
of a situation like yours. Even if you live in a country with more lenient marijuana laws, growing in your parents'
home without their permission and going to great lengths to keep it from them is just dishonerable.
I'm not trying to flame you, man, I'm just hoping you'll rethink your grow strategy and show a little more
respect for the people who keep a roof over your head and food in your mouth.

Wait till that smell comes. The power will be the least of your worries.

If they own the house and its raided...they're still responible too...Just dont do it...go rent an apt to grow in. Safest thing for everyone!

The short answer is, yes they will notice it if they check the bills. So, a 250w MH or HPS HID will consume 300 watts per hour, for 18 hour days that's 5.4kw a day per month its 5.4 x 30 = 162 Kw hours per month at $0.10 per kw hour is 162 x 0.10 = $16.20 per month on 18 hour days.

My advice is to go round your house and replace all the incandescent bulbs with 11w energy savers and stop using anything at all that consumes large amounts of electricity. Don't use the tumble drier, switch all lights off if they're not being used etc, that will help reduce your Kw per hour usage to the point where they may not notice the additional increase in Kw usage from the 250w HPS.

It's a juggling act, don't assume they won't notice it though.
