    They don't need light because there are no leaves. The leaves are what use light to convert it to energy for the plant. Your seeds just need warmth and moisture.

    they dont need it to germinate but do need it after so they know which way is up.

    i use dim light because i let the seeds stay in the towel till they are 1 inch long....then plant verticle...
