Exclamation I'm not sure what to do
Hey, im quite new to growing skunk.
Im currently on my second try.

I have got a Fishtank light on a little ballast thing and 6 plants

4 of the plants are growing at such a fast rate and they are already startin to get big after nearly two weeks of growth

but i have no nutes

i have got some miracle gro and my friend says it will work, but im not too sure and i dont wanna kill them.

just now my friend brought me round a bottle of ph buffer

its called pH buffer 7 and its made by growth technologys

on the back it reads

'A buffer solution with an accurate and stable pH of 7.0.'

and

'pH meters should be calibrated regularly.
Follow instructions supplied with the meter'
-- It goes on --
'For 2 point calibration use pH buffer 4 and pH buffer 7 unless instructions advise otherwise'

I haven't got no pH meter, nor pH buffer 4

Any idea on how I could use this stuff, how much of it, when to...

And do I absolutely HAVE to have a pH meter?

Thanks

Goodness.... I'm not even sure where to start.

OK... first off the light.... a fish tank light..... really man????? You will need to ditch that light and get yourself something better. If money is a problem and you can't afford a HID light then you need to get yourself some CFLs.... think LOTS of them. I flower with HID lighting but I veg with CFLs. I've got 2 young plants under Five 26 watt CFLs (26 watt CFLs are equivalent to 100 watt incandescent). The lights should be kept no more then 2" from the top of the plants to prevent S*T*R*E*T*C*H.

The PH Buffer you have is for calibrating PH meters.... not for adjusting the PH of water. I have a meter and I do the 2 point calibration with 4 and 7. Anyhow... it's a moot point since you have no meter..... you have nothing to calibrate .

The stuff to adjust PH is called PH Up and PH Down. Again.... a moot point since you have no meter so you have no idea what the PH is or if it needs adjusting.

My guess is you are growing in soil so it's likely you won't have to worry about the PH. As for the Nutes.... does the soil you used contain food already (is it Miracle Grow soil?) if so then don't feed them anything else or you will burn them to death.

If your soil doesn't already have food in it and miracle gro plant food is all you have/can afford then I'd say go ahead and give it a shot. Just remember.... start SLOW with 1/4 strength (or even less) and see how they do. I'd also guess that with miracle gro food you wouldn't be feeding them but once a week or two (but I'm not sure as I don't grow in soil).

Hope that helps.... good luck

If your light is 400w High Pressure Sodium, you will be good.. look around on it and if it says HPS then.. good. That will be used for flower. But go get some CFLS, daylight spectrum (coolest blue you can get) and veg with those

Ok first things first, If you're using a fish tank light that will not give your plants the adequate lighting needed for proper growth at the start. They will grow because they have light, however you need to consider the fact that each plant needs a certain amount of light in order to properly gorw and produce the most bud for your buck. I believe the ratio is 50W per sq Ft. I could be wrong on this but, like I said I'm not 100% sure. I know the sun produces 10,000 Lumens per sq foot so that may help you when deciding what type of lights and such to get. Just remember that since you are growing in an enclosed area you will need an exhaust fan, a clean air input fan, and to keep the temp right around 85 degrees optimal. As far as your mirical grow nutes that shoudl be fine, just don't over do it or else you will burn out the roots and then be screwed and have to start from scratch. And I'm not sure for soil but I know that the plants like a Ph of right around 5.8 for the optimal setting in aero.....(is that also true for soil applications?) I strongly reccomend going out and getting a ppm meter and a ph meter to better read your soil acidity and your nutes that you are delivering to your babies.

That's my .02 take it for what it's worth
