hey everyone, ivew been growing my plants for a solid week. one is 4 inches, the other is 3.5ish... the first five days i used a regular incandescent bulb, but i switched to a grow light with full daylight spectrum. my problem is, my plants are starting to droop, and i dont know how to fix that. as of now, i have sticks holding them up. can anyone tell me how to make the stems stand stronger? the leaves on the 3.5 plant are about an inch long... the plants are being grown indoors, and my mom knows, so i can do what is needed to help them grow stronger...

This is the 3.5 Inch plant

This is the 4 Incher, w/ stick supporting it

and this is both of them together

take a drinking straw cut it to the length of the stems and make a slit down the length, you can use that to support you seedlings because they took stretched.

how many watts is the new light? it looks like you dont have enough light, but thats prolly from the incandescent bulb. they will prolly survive as long as they have enough light now. good luck

Ok, so right now im using a 60 watt AgroSun Dayspot Grow Bulb. Its in a 40 watt lamp though. The light is about 4.5 inches away from both of them, ONLY because i have one light on both plants. the thing is, it says its a 60 watt INCANDESCENT bulb, yet its a grow light???? theyre definatelyu growing though, thats for sure. since i put the grow light on them, in one 15 hr period, the top leaves grew from the cotyls which they were even with, which id say is about an inch for the smaller plant, and an 1.5 inches for the other, and ive noticed more growth since those pictures were posted, id say maybe an eigth of an inch, which isnt bad cause my mom made me unplug the light for an hour earlier so my dad didnt see them.

overall, id say the light is working, im just worried about the 40 watt lamp. so far its doing fine, but im just worried the light/lamp will bust, or the lamp isnt giving out its max light potential.

on the botom of the box, it says anything within 12 inches gets bright light, anything within another 12 inches gets medium light. both are definately getting light though.

they may be taking a longer time to grow considering i had to transplant one about 6 days ago because they were to close, and then about 3-4 days ago i put both into new containers, and then today i had to stash them in the back of a guitar amp, and one was on an angle.

to me, this is lookin like pretty strong weed with the exception of the stems... im shocked theyve made it this long. they definately arent going into shock or anything, cause im noticing growth evvery time i look at them.

over all, i need a new light source im assuming... something that can hit both of them... my mom insistsssss on putting them in the garden, but im from nj, and i dont think we get 18 hrs of light up here, and im worried with the weather were having up here. when would any of you recomend they will DEFINATELY be able to withstand light wind? (without falling over, which im extra cautious about considering the stem length)

oh, and i intend on filling the pots higher with soil, just waiting for my aunt to get more soil. im gona fill it to around an eigth of an inch from the rim of the container
