Felt like I needed to expand on this subject considering other growers have begun to do this purely on my rants and raves on exactly how simple this method actually is!

First U cut the plant in the desired location.I prefer the Tops of the plants themselves(Topping).If U cut the stem be sure to leave at least one node for future growth on the stem.(Future Cloning) Or future (Bud sites)

Second Be sure to cut @ a 45 degree angle with a SHARP clean knife, shears or razor. I used a pearing knife for awhile.

Third Be sure to have a cup of water handy to place the cutting in directly upon cutting. Its Best to cut in water so air does not enter the main cutting stalk.

Fourth Scraping. This is done quickly. U want to scrape at least the bottom 1/2 inch "SKIN" off the bottom of of the main stalk of ur cutting.
THIS means removing only the OUTSIDE layer of green "SKIN".GENTLY. Just be carefull.

Fifth U can place these cuttings directly in the cup of water. Although ive been experimenting with dipping them in rooting hormone and superthrive ive had awesome results in just placing them in plain water.TAP WATER.

Sixth Cloning medium. This consists of the cup and the water. I cut my cups.( I use regular red plastic party cups found everywhere !)I cut the cups to size to be sufficient enuff to brace the tops of the cuttings (SIZE of cuttings).Meaning, the upper fan leaves dwell on the top of the cut cup.

Seventh This is the last step. WATER LEVEL IN CUP. I put enuff water in my cup to completely cover the area which I scraped. Usaully 1/2 inch to a quarter. THIS water is CHANGED AND WATCHED daily.

Reason being. Cutting drink lots of water sometimes so stay on top keep ur water level consistent. Changing ur water only enstills U are taking every action neccesary to be sure ur water will not stagnate on ur new babies.

Its that simple hope this clears up things for a few people. Its very simple.

a question now is why would i ever keep males then? can i just assassinate them and use cloning as my only means of reproduction?? and then my supply can last forever in sustenance??

also, could u clone off a plant thats merely 5 inches? lol imean like, just cut off any branch with a leaf attached to it?

Seems to be the main reason for cloning sir. The reason I began cloning was to keep my females(BUDS) in tact. Males do not produce BUDs.
For me it came down to be dissapointed and let down whenever I wasted my time and money growing male plants and having to chop them down in the end because MALES dont serve much of any purpose other than polinating ur BUDS.And seeds are not welcomed cuz they distrat the females from further producing these buds (FLOWERS) and concentrate more on producing the seeds.

Clones. Especially tops are typically exact replicas of the original plant U cut the cutting from.So yes the purpose of cloning is typically for female plants and filling ur grow with nothing but BBUUDD.

Wait for the plant to grow at least 6 true leaf sets or (nodes). The trick to cloning is allowing the parts U want to clone to grow big enuff to be able to manage and put thru this system.One inch cutting are harder to clone than 4 inch cuttings because they are more unmanageable using this method.

TOPPING

This method is used for many things.Typically to force palnts to grow more main stem shoots for(Colas) BUDS to reside on.I top mine @ 6 true leaf sets and clone the tops always. Well cuz im greedy. This forces the plants main stalk to BRANCH out and create new main stalk shoots(TOPS).

Always cut directly above the last true leaf set when ever cutting a plant for any reason.

Yes U follow the procedure of cloning already depicted in this thread to clone the tops. Yes U can keep on VEGGING the plant and topping the new tops that are derived from cutting the original main stalk of the stem.
U actually do decapitate the plant. SCRAPE and palce in the cup exactly as described.
The first set of leaves do not count as a (NODE) considering they do not produce stem shoots for bud sites to reside on.
Count up the plant from the first node until u get to the sixth node.Chop off the head.
Dont do this until U can actually conservatively clone the top. I top my plants @ 6 nodes usually 6 inches. But the top I cut Usually has 3-4 nodes ( 3-4 inch cutting) to clone.

Alright to further clarify some questions a couple people have asked.

Beginning Root Structure Growth. The first 2 pix in the from the left show beginning root structure growth (LIL WHITE BUMPs Forming on stalk)after 7 days from cutting using the clone in a cup of water method. THese are ready to be placed in whatever method of growing u| choose.

LOL the third pic from the left will show a durban poison clone 2-3 weeks still in cup waiting for my friend to come get it! Damn stoners! Anyway these are things to look for. This durban cutting was ready after 6 or 7 days with the root bumps and should have been transplanted a long time ago.

hey buddy i was wondering if tonic water will work?? i took a cutting of my juicy pink today and forgot to keep a cup of water overnight for 24 hrs to let it get room temp and the only water i had that was room temp was tonic water out the bottle. anyways will it harm my clone?
