Default The Dreaded SW US Summer

I think I now hate the summer....The summer temps have come in over the past day or two. Outside temp is 90+F. The temp inside my grow has risen
accordingly. Its up to nearly 90F under the lights!

What to do what to do....One plant looks to be feeling it too. It was the biggest plant. Now its the one lagging behind. No longer deep green...looking a bit "pale" or yellower. I planned on getting another fan or two...But Im wondering if even that will be good enough.

No places for vents...just two doors. Im not ready to give it up...but I think I need to build/buy something that would help regulate temps better. Either that....or only grow from fall-spring...and hope I have enough smoke to last me thru summer

I saw this on Wally's site....I liked the fact that it has outlets incase you run low on spots on the surge protector. I didnt see what the CFM is though. They dont give that kinda info on the website I guess.

Getting a new air cooled hood. HTG has one with a gasket around the hood to provide an excellent seal. Sucking all that hot air outside.

Also installed a small ac until in the grow room a few years back for those hot summer days (we get a few).

An air-cooled hood is worth every penny. I had great ventillation, but only after getting a cooled hood did my temps finally drop to acceptable levels in summer.
Our vibrations were getting nasty. But why? Was there no communication in this car? Had we deteriorated to the level of dumb beasts?

Thats why most grows happen in the winter. kind bud is tough in the summer. it takes alot of btu's to keep a grow cool. if your hydro and 90F your in serious trouble. you can get 10 fans all you are going to do is blow hot air around.

As far as hoods, i am very far south, it gets hot fast. the 24" cylinders i use are great during winter they can take alot of heat away.

If you look im my gallery you can see the cylinders i speak of. now if you want to kill the heat. you need to go for liquid cooled lights

You say liquid cooled lights ! Yes.

So the heat is on, you burning 1K you staying a cool 12-16 inches away.....

Move your plants 5 inches from a 1k bulb. this is no joke or gimic. you will see i have brought this up here. this new idea founded here is weeks away from mass marketing. this cylinder can be air cooled water cooled or both. you can rest assured when the first prototype entered the store i was blown away. the following day to see this product with a 1k bulb and now air was unreal.

these setups will be 400-600 depending on reflector options. you will need a res and chiller. By masking the heat signature with liquid your riding the wave of the future.

I do need to say there are risks and dangers with this hightech setups. you need to take extreme caution when mixing liquid and hid.
