Default Setting Up My First Grow Room
Finally got the ball rolling on setting up my very first grow room. Doing it in my closet. I've taken quite a few pictures. I'm still pretty new to this, but I understand the process and set-up a little better now. Hopefully the answers I get will help some other new growers as well.

Room Dimensions: 4"4 x 4"1 x 8ft (ceiling height)

Growing system: Starting with soil, going to set up a hydroponic system later after my first yield and then compare the results.

I'm going to chronicle my progress, and hopefully get some helpful feedback from you guys as I go.

I do see you have windows in that closet. MAKE SURE THOSE WINDOWS ARE COVERED!

If you use a HPS (Which would be the best idea) Then make sure those windows are covered because HPS's light are very bright and you do not want anybody to peak and see your indoor garden. Also because of that space I recommend getting a 400W HPS. And do not forget that HPS lights get VERY hot VERY quick so make sure you have good ventilation in that little space. However you said your ceiling is 8 feet high which is fantastic if you plan on growing some Sativa's.

Since then, I've constructed and added a table to the closet that sits on 2ft
legs, and gathered a lot of supplies since i had almost none of the things needed to make a good grow room. For the table I just used 4x4 piece of plywood, and three 7ft beams and cut them into eight 2ft legs and eight 6" corner bracing pieces to make it more sturdy.

The table practically takes up the while closet. I put it on 2ft legs to allow room to construct a hydroponic system under it in the future (growing in soil for now).

Here's some pictures of what it looks like since I've put the table in:

Okay, yeah well it's winter right now. Very very cold, so I'm thinking I'm gonna have to insulate the window, and then cover it completely.. 1. so no light escapes/enters, 2. so doesnt affect the room temperature.. and I'm just gonna push the blinds up directly against the window so it looks just like the blinds are down from the outside. Also, I'm not on the ground floor, so it's hard to see directly into my window unless looking with binoculars from a neighboring place.

you should be able to get away without a major exhaust setup, as long as you air it out good while the lights are on, and make a Co2 generator, i'm using a tent thing i built 5x5x7 and its very reliable but i would love a room like yours

Okay, since I've added the table. I created my carbon filter using a DYI guide
on this site. I can't find the link back to it, but second I do I'll give credit where credit's due. Anyways, I created the carbon filter. Then, since the fan
came only with wires and no plug.. I had to figure out how to wire it either into the ceiling light or into a plug. I found another DIY guide on here for splicing inline fans into extension cords. I did that to power the fan, and connected some ducting to it.

Break down of filter: Ducting endcap connected to inline fan by alluminum screening and duct tape. Placed the carbon filter over the screening. Then connected the end with the fan on it into a duct piece that feeds it into the overhead vent. Here's the carbon filter hooked up completely.. it's not very loud either, which is a plus:

Yeah it's goin straight back through the apartment's ventilation. Which I'm actually concerned about. I think the fan is strong enough to reverse the flow of air, it's 250 CFM. But if it isn't, I'm going to need to go up into the attic and cut the venting going into that room and plug it up, so that the air from the room just gets pushed directly into the attic. But then I'm not sure if when the fan turns off that cold air from the attic will flow back into the room or not... it is winter here and cold.
