Cuttings from flowering plants are notoriously difficult to get to set root. If you can get roots, you still must revert the plant to veg state, several weeks under 18+hr light.
I've tried air layering a mother plant in veg; had a very poor success rate compared to a batch of regular cuttings taken from the same plant, raised in a clonebox on a heat mat. Can't imagine that doing the same with a plant in flower would yield much better results.
For those who don't know WTF we're on about, air layering is a method of getting roots out of a stem by putting a piece of damp media around the stem of a mother plant. This way, you get roots before you cut the clone from the mother plant.
Unfortunately, the method doesn't lend itself to use of heat mats, which work wonders for cloning speed. The media in air layering also has a propensity to dry too quickly.

Sorry about that.
However, you've done it once, you can do it again.
Next time, I'm sure you'll plan on having a mother plant veg area so you can get clones anytime you want them.
