I have been growing my Purple Widow for a while now, and I looked at the tricomes threw 10x scope, and I am confused. The stalk on the tricome is amber, but the ball on top is still cloudy clear... Does the purple bud make the stalk of the tricomes look amber? I really need advice, because If the plant isnt full maturity, I dont want to cut, but if it is ready to be cut, then I need to do so. Alot of the hairs turned orange on the plant, but then alot of new white hairs came in a week or so ago. I am really confused

HMMM WHAT WEEK FLOWERING ARE YOU ON AND DO YOU HAVE PICS? i AM GROWING A PURPLE STRAIN MYSELF. i AM also using this stuff called purple maxx that encourages the purple color.

Yeh I kinda think so but, most of the hairs have already turned orange weeks ago, but now new white ones are coming in. It appears to be more sativa, you can see pictures on my grow journal in my signature. Really not sure what do to. I will get new ones tomorow for you guys. But picture on grow journal, on page 5, is about a week old, you can look at date to see exactly, but you can see hairs already orange, but new ones coming in white.

you didnt answer whst week of flowering you were, and if you can get a pic with a 10x we would be able to help you better. the new hairs coming in is normal. you should be very close and dont want to cut too early or miss the perfect day to harvest! im sure you mosied around the FAQ on when to harvest, right?

Its about 6th week of flowering, maybe 7th. And its kinda hard to get a pic with 10x... and yes I know when to harvest, I am not asking that

This question is for PURPLE BUD GROWERS, or people who would know something about it. I know when to harvest, but im guessing you havent grown a purple plant, the tricosomes look different, the stalks are amber looking because of the purple bud. Hard to tell when they are ready, which is why I am confused. Im going to wait until the ball on top changes amber then cut. Since its a Sativa plant however, it might be a week or two away, not sure. Thanks for the help guys : )

im growing a purple kush plant. the buds are completely purple with yellow hairs and no green on it whatsoever. however, the trichomes on the plant are still that milky white that they are supposed to be. there are 2 different views on when to harvest and its pretty much trial and error at this point. some say that when most of the trichomes are that mily white color and the mushroom looking heads are nice and full then it is time to harvest, however others say that a good rule of thumb is to have half amber trichomes and half milky white trichomes before harvest, and even another theory is that if u want a more sativa bud you harvest when the trichomes are mostly milky white, and with mostly amber trichomes you will get more indica like buds. it is very confusing i know. espesially because sometimes purple strains have purple trichomes as well. i hope this helped in some way and didnt just add to your questions!
