Ok so i want to buy a single flourescent lamp for the first 4 weeks of my lowryder cycle mainly because they're cheaper to run and I want to start them off in my bedroom, but anyway, you can buy all of these self ballasting ecolight bulbs but im wondering, i've got the bulb... but what the fuck do i do with it?

the bulb looks like this... im sure many of you have seen it...




I know it's a screw bulb but is it your general house screw bulb for normal desk lamps and such. because if so then I will just buy a cheap one of those...

You screw it into the reflector, idk if you could use a desk lamp holder

they look a little small to go into my reflector and on the website it says this

"These flouro bulbs are self ballasted so you only need a bulb and reflector or a bulb and a ceramic lamp fitting"

Yeah the ceramic lamp filling is for electric engineers to hook up to your house wiring, way too complicated. I think you have to get the reflector that comes with it but it definitely goes in the reflector

house wiring wtf? cant I just buy a cheap screw in lamp and change the lamp fitting to ceramic?

i really dont know, iom just kinda reading the info on your link, but id wait till the big boys, as they were dubbed, start commenting. As far as i know bulb goes in the reflector, im not really a light expert.

Your gonna need a socket to fit the bulb into, The socket plugs into the wall receptacle just like a lamp does. Get the socket that fits the bulb ... you might have to order on-line or buy at a hydro store. See the bulb in your reflector picture? Its sitting in the proper sized socket that is provided in the reflector. The electrical cord that plugs into the wall isn't shown in the picture.
