I have grow space that is...2.5ftX2.5ftX4ft and i'm currently growing using two 4 bulb 2ft T5's and 4 24watt CFL's(stays around 75 degrees) and now what i'm wanting to do is move that set up and use it for clones/ nonflowering plants and i want to use a 150watt or 250 watt HPS but i'm worried about heat issues. I have a fan moving air around...but i'm wondering if anyone has an educated guess on what kind of temps i might be looking at in this small area.
Its just in a closet with a door i leave cracked. There is other stuff in the closet but i use a corner for growing. i only grow like two/three plants at a time... |

Its going to get hot in there with HPS...I'm guessing it will get into the 90's unless you have measures to cool the HPS like a cool tube. Just cracking the door aint gonna work. Stick with the T-5's

a 250 watter doesnt give off that much heat really if you leave the door cracked and theres plenty fresh air in the house ,keep the air moving maybe get a couple of oscillating fans in there and you should be cool temps migh get upto 30c but they can cope with it. ideally get a small 100mm vent fan though

depends on outside temps etc over here leave a window open in the next room and you could run a 400 in there no probs . just speaking from my personal experience, if he's in a hot place then yes temps woul prob get too high.

its not hot or cold just normal..... ummm i have two fans in there one osciallating and one stationary. i have a place i could vent....with a small vent do you guys think a 150watt hps would cause issues?i mean what i could do is cut a hole in my
homemade grow tent and put a small fan near the top...do you think that would do it? the only issue is i would be venting into the closet with the cracked door..... |

yea mna i have a simailar size space onlt it is much taller 2.5x2.5x6.5 and i only had a 150w hps and it got too hot in there over 85 sumtimes when the lights were on even with a fan and an air purifier. im also in a basement which you would think would make it a lil cooler but wasnt tha case. if your temps are gona be high look into using a safe form of co2. this would work perfect for you as it did for me since your only growin 3 plants and in such a small area tha only problem is its expensive but check it out and like i said it worked wonders for me. www.co2boost.com this is what it did for my one baby under only a 150w hps
