How is it going everyone? I just moved to a new area no contacts and I have a shower stall downstairs doing nothing I decided I was going to grow my own (at first out of desperation but now it just makes sense) anyway I will prob get it going after some more research and I needed to know these things 1. How much smoke am I going to get per plant on average I know it will vary and 2. How long does it take from germ to harvest I have seen some different answers for this one. Thanks for you help and please smoke a bowl for me

Very good questions. The first question of how much you can expect to harvest being that it is your first grow isn't really a fair question. Could you hit a homerun the first time you picked up a baseball bat? You could but the likelihood of it happening is pretty slim. You could hit the ball and get on base and learn from your experience though. I would aim your first grow at getting to the last day with a lot of knowledge. As far as how long will it take I would say don't expect to get your smoke on from your own plants for 3-4 months.

Thanks for getting back to me that is a great analogy of what to expect I was wondering if anyone knows of a good strain to start of with I worry about First time ease more then production but if it dosen't matter what strain produces best buds I know that this is subjective but just wanted your guys suggestions

Short and Simple Advise for the novice beginner wanting to grow for personal use is:

1, RESEARCH, READ AND STUDY, 2, If you have tools and IF are handy with them, build a simple Hydroponic System, Drip or Bubbleponics, OR IF you got the $, but a Kit (StealthHydro.com) 3, Use CFLs
4, do not tell anyone, not your girlfriend or anyone!
5, visit here often!
6, Pray for peace! LOL

You've had some pretty good advice so far. Regarding yield and time, it is hard to answer, but as a general guide if you shoot for 1-2 oz's a plant and get more on a first go you'd have done well.

Time cycles are 'usually' around 90 days from sprouting to harvest but again it does vary according to variety.

So since I am prob not going to have a good first time is it best for me to use bagseeds? I mean if my first goal is to just have the thing survive, and is Hydro the way for me to start I havent really read up on it but damn it looks kind of Daunting! Thank you for taking the time to answer these ?'s I think that is amazing about this Forum

man, i say go hydro if you got the time & money. it's a bit less forgiving, but once you get the hang of it you're golden!!!! they've got all sorts of cool equipoment out there, and you can build alot of it from trips to home depot. oh, yeah, CFL first grow, but then do some research and get some better lights. peace, happy gro (ohm, one more thing. NEVER grow without odor protection. anythign will do, just make sure that by floweriing ur PROTECTED. it's like parachuting without a pack otherwise. quite a thrill, but very very dumb
