Hey everyone, thought I'd introduce myself since I'm new to this forum and equally new to this little hobby. First I gotta say that I'm really amazed at how chill everyone on here is. Everyone's really helpful and I've learned a lot on here in the few days that I've been on this forum.

Anyways, I'm gonna try my hand at this. I've been reading and reading and READING (stitch in time and all that). I don't expect my first grow to go great, but I'm still trying to prepare as much as I can. Alright so I'd really prefer a quick grow. I was surfing around Nirvana and I stumbled across AK-48 and I was a bit intrigued by their boasting that it can finish in 48 days (I'm assuming that they're saying veg and flower). I know they're probably trying to push product and they do say "if conditions are perfect" and I'm sure they're exagerating a bit, but does anyone on here have any advice on this strain? Is it good for a first-time grower? Does it really finish quicker than most other strains? I haven't really made many final decisions on my setup, but I will be growing indoors with soil and probably running CFLs. Space is going to be a bit of an issue so the fact that they also say that it grows short is encouraging to me. I'd appreciate it if someone on here could separate the truth from advertisement for me. Again I'm new, so if this paragraph contains anything that you think is dumb as hell, please have patience with me. Thanks all.

LOL! I read the same thing and thought to myself I should ask around. I'm interested to see what people say.

48 days to flower, not 48 days to veg & flower.

i have grown, and will continue to grow ak48. my conditions must not be perfect, or i let mine go longer, one of the two; i harvest at half cloudy/amber, and this has averaged about 60 days for me. ak is a knockout for sure, great smoke! but, it's a sativa dom, and is a little big, if you veg for too long.

Yes like he said 48 days of flower.Its a heavy yeilder when grown right but almost everyone I know who has had it say the taste isnt too good.I know its supposed to be an easy grow plant and gets good weight.

lol! you're right, it tastes like crap. chemicalish, and brash, even with a cure, but very good smoke.

Thanks for the input! The potential for bad taste could prompt me to look elsewhere for a strain for my first grow. Any suggestions? Your favs?
