Hey all im a newb here and am going to be attempting my first grow fairly soon. Im going to be making a box that can fit in a closet and hold 2-4 plants. I would like to build something like the 1st set up here Indoor Growing Systems. My first question is how big should I make this box for say 4 plants? second what is a fairly good light set up for a decent price? I would like to try and grow these 4 plants and harvest them after 2 months and see how much they yeild. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

2 months is prolly too short, dont get your hopes up on that time. i personally just grow in my closet. i dont have the cash to build a setup so i just hang lights over my plants in the closet for now. for lighting i use three flourotubes and three cfl lights that are 100 watt equivalent, the flouros are each 75 watt equivalent. the temp never gets too high. and i just have a fan blowing for air flow. i dont kno if any of this would work for you but i thought ide input just to see. good luck with your setup and grow but definately expect it to take a little longer than that. and for proper curing youll have to add even more time. ide say give youself the goal of about 3 months start to finish which is still a little conservative.

even if you do 12/12 from seed and dont go thru any veg time at all ur still gonna be about 3 months to harvest...and thats not including the time to cure the buds after harvest...thats just from seed to chop...i like the hid lighting...i have a 400w hps and the plants seem to really like it...in a small grow box u could get a little hps set up that will grow some wicked buds...a lot of people seem to like this site High Tech Garden Supply they have good prices and seem to stand by their products
or if ur cheap like me u could get a diy ballast kit on ebay...lol. its a bit more work...but i saved a bit of money

Im not sure yet what size I should make it all I know so far is that I would like to fit 4 plants in it maybe 3x3 or something along the lines? Please correct me if that is not anywhere close to something that would work haha. Also thanks for the quick response back.

well...if you have a space thats 3x3 it would be a great size for 4 plants...and i would say u could get a 250w hps in there...but im sure a 150w hps would work well too...ideally a 250, but a 150 would probably do ok too...
