So much information to comprehend. I am totally new to the hydroponic technique except for cloning. I have been cloning using the Aero technique with misters, PVC pipes, and rubbermaid-type cabinet. I am thinking I want to maybe try to continue the hydroponic techniques instead of planting clones in soil outside.

So my question is can I use my Aero mister and just change the cover so that rather than having the multiple 2" holes it has one or two larger holes that will hold the clone through the growing stage to full plant. Then use another rubbermaid on top with lighting. These are the things that I just can't find very easily. Any help would be great. I am sure there is something here but nothing that I search for helps.

Plus, is there a way to keep the odor under control...I have only grown outside when odor is not that big of a deal for 4-6 plants. Is there a way to make this system somewhat "odorless".

I need to keep the budget down.

Welcome to the forum. Pictures might help. What you are discussing sounds possible. If you take a look at some grow journals on here and look in the FAQ (upper left hand corner) you will find pictures of how to make it. You could also check out "Barrel Of Green" a thread posted by Major Toke, for some ideas on venting etc. if you are going to cover your plants with another rubbermaid container. VV

Yes you can get another lid at wal mart for most rubbermaid tubs.If its at least a 10 gallon tub you can grow all the way with it.Use 6 3inch net pots start your clones in 1 1/2 inch cubes add hydroten over the cubes and good to go.In the FAQs there is a home made carbon scrubber how to in oder control or do it yourself I believe
