Default keeping a mother with auto flowering seeds?

Would there be a decent way to keep a mother from auto flowering seeds or thats probably hard because they auto flower

or take clones before they flower? would that work?
can you only take clones in veg or shortly after they flower?

Autoflowering strains are not ideal for cloning. IMHO they are unsuitable for cloning. Seeds are the way to go.

you can only grow auto plants from seeds, you cannot have a mother and you cannot make clones.

to make a clone you have to be able to re vegetate it, once autoflowering plants start to flower there is no going back, because it doesn't care what the light schedule is, it will flower out when the time is right.

It's possible to do, but not worth your time and aggravation. The veg stage is almost nonexistent. Because they are autoflowers, keeping a mother is impossible. Autoflower life cycles are so short, seeds will get you there as fast as clones.

right right makes sense
at the risk of sounding redundant...would it be remotely possible if you did it while they were defiantly still in veg or would they just try to flower as tiny clones and i would have been better off getting bud on them still connected to its mother?

How are you going to know if the ones you took the clones off of is going to be female? What if the ones you took the clones off turns out to be a male plant?

from a tottally outside pov i think i see why he's wanting to clone... to keep a good thing going, i'm the same way... what i would consider doing is let the first crop mate and seed out and in return have nice amount of seed for the next crop and start a grow cycle and perpetually harvest! he'd save a bundle if he orders seeds
