Right it's like this, I bought myself a 400W High Pressure Sodium setup the other day for quite a bit of cash, mainly because this is what I was told to do by you guys, but i think it's eating up my electricity like a motherfucker and I dont really want to be giving the parents anymore money than I already do for electricity for christs sake :P
So im wondering about cheap lights, this is both on electricity and price to buy, if anyone has any suggestions then please get back to me setup: My setup.. if thats what u call it.. edit: im willing to buy florescents but nobody gives me any idea on what wattage or price-range im looking at for this but let me know... |

B52 is not the easiest strain but manageable, you should go with northern Lights#1, Big bud, or good old Skunk#1 for growin as someone never done it before. those strains are far easier then B52, which is a damn good strain still if you got light potting soil handy, go with it, personally i'm a rockwool fan but since soil is a bit easier, if it is a good soil, you should use this. Watch out that this soil has no additives, like fertilizers to it! just plain light soil, maybe mixed with perlight or small-sized expanded clay, which would help with the drainage a lot. pots should have also proper drainage to them. always start small first, in my outdoor years i started with jiffy pallets, never start in something bigger than a 1/2 gallon one, i would even say in a 1/3 gallon bucket.

Here is a money savings tip for you! Use your HPS as someone else stated they cost around 40.00 a month to run, Change out all of you incandecents in your home with cfl's, lower your water heater a few degrees, lower your thermostat on your furnace a few degrees and vent the heat from your light inside your house to lower your heating costs while running your 400w hps. You will find that just by changing out incandecents for cfls your bill will go down. I know when I purchased my 400w hps I used all of my cfls for my lamps in my home and my bill went down 10.00 a month. Of course my ol'ladie leaves all the friggen lights on all the time. With just a few simple money saving changes you can, run your light and still have a bill comparable to before you started using a HID system!

That light will cost you 28 bucks a month to run at 24/7 lighting for 30 days straight @ 10 cents / kilowatt hour
EDIT: thats like pluging in a big ass stereo into your house... or a huge freaking desktop.... or a big screen tv
