ok...my little one is like a month and a half old and it's about 5 inches tall. it looks really healthy but the tips of the leaves are yellow, even any new ones. i thought it might have been because of heat...not sure though. and also, yeah, there is this ball growing that almost looks like a seed..could it be a male?..i hope not..i was using 2 42 watt cfls and a 15 watt daylight flouresent in a closet with a pc fan. it didn't seem to like the closet so i made a grow box and changed the 42 watts after i realized they were 2700k...so i got some 26 watt daylight cfls and it seems to like those alot better. i thought maybe the 42 watt clfs may have been burning the tips, but even with the 26 watts it still seems to do it. the lights aren't that close either...does anyone have any ideas???..the ball thing is really freaking me out too....i'll try to post some pics if i can barrow my friends cell phone...

haha you FAIL. It should be around 2.5 to 3 feet by now

dude dont be a fucking dick.. this is clearly his first time growing or first "real" attempt..

ok buddy, after a month and a half you should already be in flowering, but I'm going to assume that your plant hasnt been getting enough light to grow properly, or your pot is extremely small. a picture would help analyze your situation alot better but from what your tellnig me I can tell you this...

You need more lightl. put those 42s back, the yellowing is not from your 42s, it's from nute burn (to much nutriants)..

If you want me to help you more please either post a picture or give more info.

How many CFL's do you have and what wattage?

How big is your pot size?

What's the average temp of your grow area?

What nutriants have you been using at what strengh and how often?

After all that info is answered I can probably give youa full explination as to the problems your having.
The ball thing could be a male, but no one can tell you without a picture.

Your lights sound adequate for 1 small plant, but I also agree that container size may have a role in why it's "locked up". If root system can't expand they plant will suffer over all. The lights should be very close to the plant as well. Also what light schedule are you on? 24/0, 18/6, or 12/12?

Sounds like a male.

Leaves burn because the plant can't cool itself. Could be too many nutes to allow the plant to move large amounts of water. I find that a high humidity up until the buds start to take on their final shape is one of the best things you can do for the plant.

I would use all those bulbs..... but you prolly do have a male.

the pot is like 10" x 5"......at the moment i'm using 2 26 watt cfls and an 18" 15 watt flouresent ..all daylight bulbs..the nutes are miracle gro all purpose..i've used them at quarter strength and maybe feed it like once a week. i'm not sure of the temp in the box..i used to have it on a 12\12 light schedule, then i put it on a 14\10 and now its on 18 hour light cycle...i also have a pc fan on it to keep it cool...

Same thing is happing to me...I put it in new soil and noticed that the roots were growing out of the drain holes...So i went to my local hydro store (which was closed but the guy open for me) and got a 1 gallon pot....I'm about to transplant AGAIN....I'll let you know if it turns around...Tip of the leaves are getting really bad now so cross your fingers...

Miracle Grow soil has fertilizer already in it, by adding more fertilizer you have caused "Nute Burn" . MG soil fertilizes every time it gets wet. Nute burn shows up as yellowing/browning/crisping leaf tips.

i don't have miracle gro soil......i'm just using the nutes..the soil is from the earth. which is probably bad..but fuck it...this is more of an experiment..after looking at pics and such i'm pretty sure it's male which sucks....but if i get it to flower at least it is practice for when i get a female

man that is a totally diffent thing..has your plant still not grown?...to be honest with you.....start a new grow..i've shit canned a few after they haven't grown worth a shit in a couple weeks..try all daylight bulbs..mine loves it....like i said before this is an experiment and now it's going good but i think that it is a male plant ( i wouldn't doubt it it because i've put it through so much stress trying different things)
