Default painting milk jug pots
I don't know shit about paint but hopefully this is easy enough for experts.

I'm using clear plastic gallon milk jugs for pots and I want to paint them white to prevent roots from getting light. What kind of paint should I use? Spray paint maybe? The main thing I'm afraid of is some paint that gives off chemicals that would float around and hurt the plants.

No, that shouldn't be a problem if you're painting the outside. I do think, though, that it might just flake off pretty easily. If the plants aren't already planted, you could line the pots with opaque plastic, like black plastic bags.

I was considering that, or the extra blackout fabric I have for light leaks. But the jugs will be tight in the cabinet and I think any fabric would be too easy to be ripped off when moving the jugs. So I'm thinking paint.

Just found online some stuff called Krylon paint which binds to plastics. And it's spray paint so that should be convenient. is that good for this?
