Hey all..

First of all these forums are awesome, just starting up and already answered 99% of questions.

I just set up a little growing area in my attic, nothing major just want a couple of plants to admire and ultimately smoke I'll be rapt if the seeds i got from a mate who had them is his garage even sprout. Anyways, the attic seems ideal on paper bar for one thing, its frikkin hot up there. When it's warm in the house, it's hot up there.. when it's hot in the house...

Considering i just want the odd plant, nothing special, i have ruled out buying an a/c unit due to cost and i can't put exhaust fans to the outside for light leak fears. So accepting the fact it's going to be hot, what special measures should be taken and will this work at all? Temps could easly reach 40degrees and beyond (about 110?) during the day and evening and cool down quick at night.

Other info about setup are

2x40 watt fluro for plants (good blue spectrium)
1x18 watt warm white fluro
40inch fan for ventilation
Dul side of al foil for walls (taking this down might decrease temp a bit)

Any tips about the heat or setup would be well welcomed.

p.s yes i know the lights arnt ideal but going for cheap/less heat

Thos lights arent really ideal. Especially for an attic sorry dude

yep noted. Ill chuck a 400watt MH light up there if things get going.

Way too hot. If it is just 2 plants, why not just find another room to do it?

parents come round too often and house is really small.. Way too hot as in, plants will die.. or way to hot as in plants will not be "ideal"

Your plants will very likely die up there. It is not cool to hide a grow from your parents. Wait till you get your own place or get their permission.

this is my own place, was just saying the pop round from time to time. I couldnt hide a whole room from them in THEIR house lol. yeh anyway hmmm might have to get an aircon bummer.

If it is your place you are better off going with a closet or building a cabinet. Lots of ways to make it stealth too.
