I know that people dread hermies. Is this because of their potential to self pollinate and therefore put energy into seedlings rather than new flowers? Or is it because hermies are less potent...as in not as much THC...kinda like a male? I've tried the search function but haven't sorted it out. Thanks.

Hermies are fine just very very annoying. Having ambiguous genitalia gives them the ability to not only seed themselves but seed every female in your crop. Hermies can still make good buds they just are full of seeds. Some people are like oh I love seeds more to plant and make more plants, But truth be told most hermie seeds will produce hermie plants. So unless you get a crazy odd super fast growing hermie that produces massive buds with lil bit of seeds kill it or move it away from the others. Also be sure its sealed Ive pollinated a female from just a wisp of male pollen on my shoelace then went to tie my shoelace in my growroom and touched a females leaves.

Thanks. I'm not growing anything yet but I have access to some fem seeds which I'm tempted to try, except for the hermie thing. DP seeds apparently have a "rep." If folks know, how quickly into flower does the true hermie reveal itself. Is it immediate or can it happen well into the grow? I realize that females can grow male flowers at any point (and I would be vigilent) but I'm talking about full blown hermaphroditism. Again, many thanks. This information will help me decide which way I want to go.

usually hermies will look like males first. They will get balls and if you let them live long enough then around 1-2 weeks after they get balls you might see pistils growing in other parts.
