Simple Answer: YES

Detailed Answer: Some people do this to find out what sex their plant is. IF they are certain it is a female, then they go back to vegging to build up the plant a little more. You can also take a clone from your plant and put that into 12/12 to see the sex. If it's female then you can use the main plant as the mother plant and have a shit load of clones. Good luck!
