    Default Urgent Question About Seedlings

I'm from B.C and a few weeks ago I picked up some absolutely amazing pot. I didn't buy very much, but it just so happens I found 2 seeds in one of the buds. I've never grown marijuana before, but I attempted to germinate the seeds anyway, considering how good the weed was. A few days later, thinking they were duds, I was ready to toss them out and I noticed one of them had a good sized root coming out of it. I planted it in a small yogurt cup and the next day it sprouted A couple days rolled by and it was getting taller, but the seed shell didnt come off. luckily I was reading and found out you have to remove it manually or the plant might die. In the process of removing the shell, I accidently nipped part of the first leaves down to about 2/3 their origonal size. At this point I thought the plant wouldn't make it, but it was healthy enough that the 2 serated leaves grew quite nicely, while the first round leaves are green, but like I said have been cut down, and arent growing much as far as I can tell.

Anyway, my questions are: the plant is about 9 days old, can it fully develop if the first round leaves are damaged? also, today I tried transplanting it, and in the process all my dirt crumbled off the plant, so I was left with the roots exposed. I dug out a small hole in my new pot, and gently placed the roots in, with the stem slightly above the surounding soil. Will it be able to re-establish its root system in the new pot? And is 9 days old too early to start fertilizing the soil? I'm only using soil from my lawn that ive sifted through, and added some sand.

I'll post a picture tomorrow, provided that my plant isnt dead

What's this about removing the seed casing? I didn't remove a single one of mine and... well check my gallery to see what I mean. How can the seed casing kill the plant? As the plant grows the casing falls off. It's nature.

In truth the plants will grow in anything soil based. It'll just effect your yield if you don't do certain things properly. Yes, the plant should re-establish itself. What kind of light are you using?

I'd also suggest you read Widow's grow guide. Give it your vote too, although I really don't think it matters too much about the vote, the seeds are all but his.

In some rare cases, the seed shell remains on the seedling after it sprouts, and dries and hardens around the plant. My plant was about 2 inches high, and two days old and it still had the seed casing on. There isnt a lot of information on this, but i'm pretty sure it does happen.

As far as lights, I have a cheap fluorescent that ive been using, and my window cill.
