If I'm growing indoor and I have a roommate and I keep my bud plant in a shut closet in my room, how long until it will give off enough odor for them to notice? Will this occur before or after it buds?

The grow that im doing at the moment already smells at week 4 of veg.

yeah, it pretty much smells right off the bat! or else when the plant looks tall enough to smell and even before it will smell. I am in the same situation, my roomate is growing as well and we both made growing boxes. I made a bigger box, but it wasnt closed as well and it smelled the whole apartment after a few weeks. It made the whole place smell sour. Your gonna find that odor and especially temperature controll is gonna be WAY more of a bitch than you ever thought!

why does it matter if they smell it. do u not want them to smell it because they are against smoking weed or do u not want them to get any of your weed because u r selfish

You dont want every person that comes to your house to smell the plants. The less people that know the better. If noone knows that is the best.

I agree.. If your roommate has any senc of smell, he smells it now... By the timethe plant begins to flower, everybody in your dorm or building or whatever will be able to smell it....

That does not mean they will but the oppurtunity will be there.. Once a plant has been flowering for a couple weeks and you disturb it (watering, cutting, bumping into it) it will emit an enormous pungent order that can be smelled easily for several hundred feet.. especially if the air in the building has good ventilation...

Mine didn't really start stinking until a few days after flowering and it just kept getting worse (by worse I mean I loved it!). I have heard of many people's stinking towards the end of vegging. I had this same question a while ago. Check out this link! Stinkin like a....well you get the point
