It should be okay so long as you change the mix every couple of weeks. If you let it go stale and don't clean the lid then the bugs are going to be attracted to the sugar on top of the lid. So, if you change the mix every couple of weeks and keep the lids clean you should be okay.

so how do i know if it is working or now what kinda thing should i put over the hole like a paper towl or what cuzz i tried that and it has ben like 30hours since i first mixed it did exactly what u said to

Tried to answer this in a pm last night, but the site went down. Do you have a lid on your container? There should be a permanent small hole in the lid. You only cover the hole with your finger when you shake the bottle. When you put the bottle back into place, then remove your finger a burst of co2 will be forced from the bottle making a sound like you just opened a can of fizzy pop. After this initial burst, you'll notice bubbles about an inch thick in your bottle. These bubbles are co2, and will be released slowly into your grow area. When the bubbles are gone (a few hours), it's time to shake again.

guys isnt the co2 thing a little dangerous with to the light bulbs. im thinkin the heat isnt gonna be good at all

What?? There are so many people who set up a lot more complex CO2 systems then this. It should be fine.

I just make my wine in the same room with my plants.. the vent hoses off the tanks produce a good amount of co2 for my babies.. same theroy as the sugar water & yeast.. I'm just getting a useable product form it as well.. by adding a little fruit..
this along with good ventalation and plenty of air curculation has always worked for me...

but have also rigged vinagar on a drip over baking soda,.. before I combined the rooms.. it works.. just got to be carefull how you set the drip.. you don't want it to fast.. or you will have a mess..

Talk abotu a mess, just think of what is going to happen if some one mixes vinegar, baking soda and water in a gallon jar, outs a lid on it and shakes it. I'd like to be there to see that one.lol

a freind of mine said to get co2 into his setup cheaply, whenever he had to open a carbonated beverage he would open it in his grow room. worked for him and worth a try
