i am looking to grow a plant that grows no larger then 1 foot high. I am wondering at what height I should flower it because I know that plants will grow even in the flowering stage. I am also wondering what size pot i should use so i dont have to transplant. will a 1.5 quarts (1.42L) ice cream contain suffice or should i go bigger? I will be using florecent grow lights and bag seed. Thanks to anyone who responds.

Use a one gallon pot and start 12/12 from day one. That should keep just about any strain nice and short. You know you're not going to get much smoke from a single 12" plant, right?

I've seen people get a 2 foot plant in a 4 inch pot but a 4 inch pot should be big enough for a 1 foot plant to flower in but don't forget that if you don't top and such your yeild is gonna be smaller compated to if you toped your plant to encourage the plant to grow wider and higher from the new growth (not from the part you topped)

cr8z13, ive never heard of going 12/12 right off the bat, are you sure that will work? And if i do go 12/12 right away how do i make it flower when i want to or will it do it automaticly? and i know i wont yeild too much, i am going to try to grow 4 or 5 plants. How much do you think i will yeild per plant using the 12/12 method with flourecent grow lights? I am also considering doing LST or maybe scrog if i deside to clone.

Yes I'm sure it will work. It will flower automatically. No idea how much you'll yield. Depends on strain, hot tall the plant eventually gets, nutes, quality and quality of light. Only way to find out for sure is to get up and running and see how it goes.

I might try that then, but i still need to build my grow box. what type of nutes would you recommend i use?

I've used General Hydroponics Flora Nova nutes and they're ok, but I prefer Advanced Nutrients' Sensi nutes, although they're more expensive. For soil growing, I've heard good things from the members here about Foxfarm. You might want to look into their line. Remember to get some good organic soil, not regular potting soil. You won't need to add any nutes for the first 3-4 weeks. After that, you only need to feed your plants nutes every second or third watering.

topping / taking a clone off the top meens your making the plant stop growing taller from that area and start to grow out

Take a look at one foot Fred. Totally grown under 40W fluros (shoplights).
She was under a foot tall at harvest and yielded 100 gms cured. Height does not include 1 gallon pot it's in.
12/12 works, but isn't your only option. Topping and shaping are another answer.

topping and taking clones will help make more tops. The more tops you have then the more big colas your gonna have and taking more of the bottom branches off will help redirect the plant's energy to the rest of the plant
