It's a black market pan, slang is made up. For example I had a security plan for one of my grows and the grow site was referred to as "Candy" when we discussed the op. It's kind of hard to sit in a restaurant and talk about "the marijuana grow op". So who knows where the term "beasters" came from probably started in the Canadian cannabis community. It refers to high quality bud that has not been fully dried or properly cured so that it can be sold with the added wet weight . . .
I do agree that it is a silly name but hell we have silly names for a lot of things right? Some of the old terms have died too remember when you could buy a "lid" of grass? In Europe they smoke spliffs in the US we smoke Joints. The cannabis culture has its own language, try asking a non-smoker if they know what "beasters" are . . .
