i just recently got a acoustic guitar i dont go to lessons but i just sit and strum little tunes with basic chords. does any one know any easy songs

Ganja Babe by Michael Franti - its good for simple finger picking. It's two chords pretty much the entire song and easy to improv off of once you get better

learn Elvis or something. Once you get decent and a few songs under your belt learn what you like unless you listen to nothing but one super-technical genre or something. Most bands have that "easy song"

They will give you a pretty big list of free songs, the only catch is
they don't give you the whole song for free, just about a mins worth.
This was very easy and user friendly.
finger placements are showed and cords can be slowed down.
The first 2 weeks I was able to pick up 'hey joe' and play it flawlessly
having never played the guitar before.

Try a tablature program called guitar pro. Great program, more so for finger picking than chords. If you decide to steal it, careful, many of the torrents out there come with viruses and or spyware.
