What up

So I read a lot of music related journalism, Rolling Stone, Spin, etc. and recently there have been a ton of articles and reviews on the Kings of Leon. I curious, who's really into Kings of Leon? Is their publicity hype or are they legit?

The only reason I ask is because usually I'll get some singles/single tracks from different CDs and kind of sample them blindly and see if a band's style sticks to me. I've been doing that a bit with Kings of Leon and nothings sticks in the kind of way were they should deserve so much coverage. So I'm just curious what other people's feelings on this band are.

I don't mind them, few good songs. As you say they are a lot in the media I don't think they are good enough for that much attention.

Sex of Fire is a good one.

They have some decent stuff, but I'd say they are hyped considerably more than they should be, but hey, they're slightly different, people buy that.

KOL are fucking great such a diffrent sound of music. They really grow on you. I get my songs off the net for .09 cents a song so I rip whole cd's to my ipod and I get to experience all of thier music. Anyone herd new guns-n-roses stuff very diffrent

Actually I should probably add, they're good for stoned car rides, turn it up loud

i gotta tell ya guys, as far as contemporary music goes, it doesn't get much better than kol. you really owe it to yourselves to listen hard. i suggest getting into them in the order they released their cd's. listen to "youth and young manhood" first, trust me, you'll be blown away. it's fucking sick music, it will change your life. then "aha shake heartbreak" and "because of the times". their new cd is "only by the night".

idk why all the hype all of a sudden. they have mainstream appeal, they're all brothers and a cousin and have a retro look. i saw em a few years ago open for U2 and was really impressed with their live preformance. we were all loving this band we had never even heard of.

seeing em again at the orpheum on the 12th! can't wait!

i like em quite a bit, haven't heard their new album but Pitchfork ripped on em!

Some of their songs ROCK though, definitely worth checking out

I like their first 3 cds but this last one just released im a bit dissapointed, they are excellent live though not to many bands can pull off a live performance like KOL.

this new cd is different, more pop i think, but it's still damn good. the more i listen the more i realize i was initially mistaken.
