Default Moving and Becoming a Caregiver

I have been seriously considering relocating and becoming a caregiver as a living in Montana. I am young, have a green thumb and looking for a career I can start myself. I'm just wondering if it's wise to leave everything and start with little.

I would have to say, that's def a huge decision to make. Would def take some big balls to do. But, if you can grow great product (def don't underestimate the quality of what is already there), and have good business sense.... I can say I know a man who did just what you're talking about. Moved from virginia to montana with practically nothing, took his ideas to an investor, got his license, and now has a very successful business with several employees.
However... it's my understanding that legislation will be rewritten very shortly in that state. So before you up and decide to do it, the very best advice i can give you is to talk to some kind of business lawyer that understands montana's medical situation (if you have a hard time finding someone, perhaps NORML could point you in the right direction).
    good luck

Dont listen to austin, there is MUCH room for good growers in montana still. If you care about what you do, and you have at least 2-3000 to invest in a spot to grow and equipment, go for it. I started with nothing more then 1 400W HPS light and i currently am doing quite well. Gluck to you and remember one step at a time and plan before u plant.

hey scrogger have you read the new proposals to the law? Not the 4 page amendment to the law-the 50+page explanation of how the proposals will work. you should read it.

I'm actually considering doing the same thing. I dont completely understand how i would go about making a big buisness out of it tho, because of the restrictions on how many plants you can have growing. is there a way to get around the amount of plant restriction legally?

"Seven new small businesses have reached the 100-patient mark in that time. These are legal small businesses which benefit their local economies by hiring employees, paying payroll and workers’ compensation taxes, spending money on rent and utilities, buying advertising, engaging the services of accountants and lawyers, and so on. And money spent in a local economy is “recycled”, as the funds paid out to employees and service providers results in a widening network of families buying groceries, paying for housing, and so on."

That is taken from the 2011 Montana MMJ Statistics page on NORMLS site. Now what i'm really wondering is, if these legal small businesses are doing this and paying all these employees and lawyers, how in the world are they making any money?

You have to be a resident for 1 year to be a caregiver here. 6 plant limit, BTW it might get repealed. Bad fight coming.
