Default Can you caregive for a living?

Wondering if anyone is able to do this? I jacked another thread asking the same question and thought better of it so I'm starting this. I have 3 patients including myself (actually 4 but I operate like its 3 for extra insurance) I grow soil, organic using fox farms nutes and my own mix of soil. enough about me, I ask everyone in MICHIGAN are you making any money at this? I'm around 1.50/hour labor and costs covered. it'll improve slightly once I fill in my cycles (perpetual grow). If you have any info I'd appreciate it. mainly I'm worried about price in the end. I have tried every which way to work the numbers so I can sell overages to disp but it ends up making someone else money and I stay at below minimum wage on labor. I think this farmers market option is also jacked. I had this figured on a fixed cost model and that of course isn't going to work it's totally an adjustable cost situation. so, is anyone doing well digging in the dirt?

You really have to know where you are growing gram per watt and hit it consistently. Grow strains people are interested in keeping only worthy phenos and you'll be in the game brother. I'm not growing for $ but know many whom have for years as others come and go.

If I had 5 patients that were willing to pay $400 an oz, and use upwards of 3 oz a week each, yeah I might be able too lol.

I am reasonably compensated for my time and expenses. Nothing more, nothing less.

The only way to make a living at this is either dealing or owning a dispensary so you can charge out the ass. As far as I know they are the only ones that get away with charging $400 an oz.

yeah, I'm afraid the more I see the more it appears true that unless you take your hands out of the dirt get to butt-banging the people you want to help I'm just not going to make this a living. sucks too cuz it's what I do when I have nothing to do and it's what I make time to do when I have no time do anything so it's obviously a passion and a love so it'd be that perfect "job".

It's on of the fastest growing industries in the world. There are schools popping up everywhere. Honestly. Making a living working with several different aspects of mj industry is different than growing 2 lb plants and charging $500 a zip. You have generous people here on rollitup that grow and give away everything to charity, then you have greedy dispensaries, (not dispensaries, but greedy dispensaries) charging $450-500. How many cards in Michigan? Come on, man! Lots of room in middle.

You won't be wearing $500 shoes if you are doing it right.

Let me be blunt. My 2 cents...If you can't support yourself on a part time job and part time caregiving for your patients you have a problem. Spend less or learn how to be handy!

while I appreciate the bluntness I fail to see how that post is helpful.

Sorry I wasn't more upfront...and it looks like homeless just filled in the gap. I have so many people that complain about money issues but yet can't seem to live within their means. What you make is what you have to form your life around. If your not happy than one needs a better paying job but for me I can live just fine with a part time job and caregiving part time for a few patients.

I have many friends and relatives that work fulltime and make twice as much as me in a year and they complain that they are living paycheck to paycheck. But they have 10k dollar cars, new furniture, always out and about spending... You can chase money and bitch or live within your means and ball!! choice is all up to the individual
