Everyone - stop writing letters to your legislators, and start writing them to the media and spending your time organizing protests and campaigning. The last letter writing campaign failed horribly, that much is obvious. We just don't have the numbers, without getting the public outraged first. With the elections being mere weeks away, they will be acutely aware of the public's opinion on such matters. It's dangerous to pass controversial legislation right before an election - let's make it controversial!

I don't know Bobs entire situation or diagnosis; but he may not be able to help himself if he doesn't try to stop his own madness.
He must get a handle on himself or he will continue the slide.

To be honest, I didn't even bother watching the video. The House bills were so despotic, so nonchalant about rights-grabbing, that I can't expect the Senate to be any different. After the CoA ruling on patient-to-patient transfers (which are fully backed by the MMA; look up the word "transfer" in a legal dictionary) I totally lost my faith in Michigan's government. Now my city is wanting to pass some retarded ordinances (both of the proposed ordinances I've seen would violate the MMA itself or civil/legal rights/privileges in some way). The way our lawmakers are handling the MMA is beyond reprehensible.

I sincerely doubt (based on some of their comments) that more than a few bothered to actually read the MMA. I'm sure that even fewer actually understand it (which makes me doubt their reading comprehension levels and knowledge of basic statutory law - both of which should be requirements for holding elected office). Grr. I'm just so pissed about the House in general (after today's nonsense with those women; barred them from talking because they said "vagina" and "abortion"). The GOP "representatives" are acting like spoiled/entitled upper-middle-class children.
