the funny thing about yield..

This is not always the case though. A plant can only grow and sustain so much bud. For a tent grow, yes, you are correct. But for the guys that supply to dispensaries and push pounds, I bet the amount of plants makes a huge difference on yield.

Also growing technique comes into play when talking about yield. Actually, so many things come into play its ridiculous

It's simple you can only grow so many plants under a given light and or Plants so big under a given light. I my self have began vegging a bit longer and running bigger plants. I went from running 18 in flower and all about 2.5 feet tall to running 8 plants that are giant bushes, And I actually yield more but maybe due to me getting better at growing I myself try covering every square inch of floor space with plant under the light about 5x5 under a true 1150 watt hps and blockbuster hood. Just out of curiosity how much are you guys pulling down off a single plant. I have been getting 4-5 off a 4 foot tall plant topped with 4-5 main heads.

I have been rifling through dozens and dozens of strains. I am training them at all. I am averaging probably ounce and a half. The ones I have trained and topped much closer to 4. Now that I am getting to what I want to grow and my patients are learning what helps them, I am training more plants to get more. With the access to genetics that I have, I do not wish to spend a lot of time on a strain that I am not even sure if I want. It is all part of the struggle of limited equipment, limiting laws, and learning what strains are truly keepers.
I use Raptor lights with 1000w hortilux bulbs. I will go 5-6 plants per light. I think with most though it will end up being more like 3-4 plants per light.

You said 4-5 off a 4 foot plant topped with 4-5 main colas. I did that with a few and was at 4. I want to get closer to 6 though. ...don't we all.

On a similar note, harvested some high THC-V Jack the Ripper. Some patients absolutely went bat shit for it. I thought it was racey as hell. Belle took a few hits and almost had an anxiety attack. That being said, I have no cuttings. Screwed up. Sometime soon I will buy a 10 pack and work it down to a mother and keep it going mainly for potent edibles, I think that will be very very effective.

If I remember right, you said you thought about it for about a minute, but was hesitant for that reason. But, for the record, a few said flat out, that I was crazy and that they loved it. lmao.

it is amazing bob for sure. It is all about everything. more light on plant more energy. more energy more growth. but you knew that already didnt you?. I just thought I would be like the others and I wanted to see myself type. Good for you bob hence learning is power in this field of green.

This is true, but this method is not very productive/efficient. You can do a 12 plant sog grow, and easily average 1oz per plant in 60 days. If you only grow 3 plants you would need to average 4oz per plant to get the same harvest. That would take roughly 2 months of vegging and 2 months of flowering.. Alot more power and time.

I've heard that about Jack the Ripper...real racy. Almost paranoid.

I feel ya gladstone it's not easy to find the "keeper". But then again it is kind of fun growing all these different strains and different pheno's. I just harvested my first 4 foot Dream Queen in super soil and I got 4.5 off her. I had to do an early chop on her 3 weeks early. She got stressed and threw out about 20 bananas So I just chopped her before the pollen spread.
